What do we do?
Primarily we have fun!
We believe children learn best when they are happy and feel secure. We operate a child initiated planning system, so activities stem from children’s current needs.
We have a routine which consists of:
- A morning wake up
- Registration
- Independent learning – which is free flow between the indoor and outdoor areas
- Circle time
- Snack time
- Group outdoor play/dance
Our environments
Indoor Area - The indoor area is designed to meet the needs of children and includes:
- An area where children can place their coats/bags
- A physical area – activities vary daily and include jumping, ball pool, ropes, benches etc
- A rest area with calming and soft music
- A carpet area – for floor play such as cars, puzzles, train, duplo etc
- A role play area – this changes daily and includes vets, hairdressers, doctors, dressing up etc
- A creative area – this includes messy play, paint, shaving foam, jelly, cutting and sticking activities etc
- ICT area – we have a laptop where children can play educational games
- Snack area – children are free to help themselves to fresh fruit/veg or water throughout independent learning
Outdoor Area - The outdoor area is securely fenced and has been designed by the children, this includes:
- 2 Playhouses
- Gravel pit
- Sand pit
- Water play
- Herb garden
- Boat
- And endless opportunities to do everything we do inside, outside! We go out come rain or shine…so make sure you bring your wellies!
